These are special times to commit ourselves
Never before, important events had occurred in such a short time like now. Indeed, after the Summit on Climate Change held in December 2015 in Paris, whose recommendations are projected until 2030 (UN 17 Sustainable Development Objectives), many committed individuals are working worldwide in drafting the contents of the Program for the New Urban Agenda (2016-2036) to be inaugurated in Quito, Ecuador, when HABITAT III is celebrated, next October. The General Assembly convened by ARC • PEACE to the end of April is no stranger to the challenges of climate change, rapid urbanization and strong waves of refugees fleeing from war, famine and evictions. Therefore, with the collaboration of colleagues from Architecture Sans Frontières (ASFInt) who also have their own assembly, parallel activities will be developed.
The current situation requires that we involve in tasks that encourage the professions of architecture, design and urban planning, and to the general public, to become aware of the growing clamor from a world subject to the greed and cruelty of powerful minorities. This is the first step. The second is to seek to actively become part of the solution, side by side with public authorities that are permeable to citizen participation.

There is an interview on the HABITAT III Agenda being drafted by a group of experts where ARC•PEACE is well represented. A report on the GA 2016 asks for fundraising efforts needed to celebrate the event, via promotion of our Book in hard copies and the guidance from the Handbook produced in 2012.
